Local Access Roads (LARs) Update at August 3rd Meeting

Local access roads (LARs) in River Road are a mostly random subset of roads under county jurisdiction that the county has never accepted into its road system and therefore does not maintain – leaving it to homeowners to maintain them at their own expense, even though in many cases homeowners do not know they live on an LAR.

Our meeting on this topic in March 2025 drew at least 100 residents – record attendance for RRCO. Community members have since been lobbying the Lane County Board of Commissioners to accept these roads, and Lane County Commissioner Ryan Ceniga has been working with us to try to find a path forward.

In our August 3 meeting, Laura Shoe, Linda Lovick and County Commissioner Ceniga will update you on what has transpired over the past 18 months, discuss next steps, and take your questions.

In the meantime, check the map on www.LARsinEugene.com to see if you live on a local access road.
