Parks and Natural Areas

The Willamette river is the eastern boundary of our neighborhood buffered by a green zone for wildlife. The Ruth Bascom River bank path  is an important bicycle and pedestrian corridor from our neighborhood to downtown, the university and beyond.

RRCO partners with the City of Eugene Parks and Open Space and Willamette River Keepers to plant and maintain native trees and wild flowers and to clean trash from the river banks.

River Road neighbors steward sections of the river front such as Rasor Park, where second Saturday work parties are reclaiming the native habitat (WE HAVE PICTURES (https://www.facebook.com/FriendsofRasorPark/), the Filbert Grove, where neighbors have been restoring a heritage filbert grove (WE HAVE PICTURES), and Heron Slough.
