The River Road Community Organization [RRCO] will be hosting The Community Resilience Festival, all day, Saturday, August 24 at the River Road Recreation Center, 1400 Lake Drive in the River Road Neighborhood. The Festival will be free. The public is invited.
We are planning presentations, educational displays, plenary sessions, skill share, art in motion, inviting various community organizations and anticipate lots of networking.
The focus of the event will be creating green and resilient homes, neighborhoods, community and regional food systems.
There are many social, economic and environmental reasons to pick up the pace for homes, neighborhoods and communities to reduce their eco footprints, build community and produce more of their needs closer to where we live.
We want to show and tell many aspects of a green and resilient economy, culture and future that ALREADY exist. The important and timely stories to be told at the event will be both urban and rural.
The southern Willamette Valley has enormous potential for producing far more of its basic food, energy and resource needs.
We have many allies and assets to work with to advance this historic task, such as non profits, private individuals, businesses, government, civic groups, faith groups, schools and more.
Check back to this website for updates. If you have ideas that should be part of the Festival or would like to help, please contact Jan Spencer at firstname.lastname@example.org
