Willamtee River Clean Up

Saturday, June 14th, 8:30 AM – 1 PM

Interested in making a difference in Eugene? Join like-minded people
with an interest in clean water and river stewardship, for one of our
largest volunteer service projects of the year. We will clean up over
twelve miles of the Willamette riverbank from Springfield through
Eugene. Join us by land or water (no canoes or soft-sided boats,
please) – shuttles for boaters will be provided. Then join us for a
free lunch, keynote speakers, and fabulous give-aways – including a
sea kayaking trip for two from Oregon by Kayak
(www.oregonbykayak.com)! Please come prepared with sturdy footwear and
appropriate clothing (volunteers should be at least 15-years-old).
Project partners (REI, the City of Eugene Stream Team, and Willamalane
Park District) will provide all necessary tools, materials, maps, and
instructions. Contact Matt McRea at 682-4850 or Amanda MacLeod at
amacleo@rei.com to coordinate your starting location – (a) Day Island
Park (Springfield), (b) Autzen Foot Bridge, or (c) DeFazio Foot Bridge
(Alton Baker Park), or (d) Greenway Foot Bridge (Valley River Center).
