5:30 to 6:30 – Walking tour of nearby neighborhood with City Manager Jon Ruiz
6:30 to 7:00 – Potluck and public comment
7:00 to 9:00 – Board members and guests will discuss opinions about increasing urbanization, options available, concerns, and creative ideas for moving into the future.
National Night Out – August 3, 2010. An RRCO celebration of safe neighborhoods will be held at Greystone Townhouses and the Briarcliff Lane area. The City of Eugene police caravan will visit our neighborhood gathering with safety information. This is a national event to strengthen communities by encouraging neighbors to get acquainted with one another. The goal is to heighten awareness of prevention measures, build support and participation in local safety programs, and send a message that our neighborhoods are organizing and working together. I’m the Demonstration Coordinator for a new project in town—The Mobile Cannery. Skinner City Farm will coordinate the demonstrations in collaboration with Center for Appropriate Transportation (CAT) with support from a Neighborhood Matching Grant from the City of Eugene. We’ll load up our cargo bike with canning materials and visit each of the six community gardens this summer. It is our hope to get the folks interested, involved, and excited about food preservation.
